Our plans for colosseum retail park
Our plans for the development in Enfield will be delivered in stages. The first phase will deliver:
- 444 new homes
- 1,785sqm of new retail space
- A 3,729sqm work hub, targeted to small and medium sized businesses
- 288 sqm of community space, including a crèche
Later phases, which will be subject to Reserved Matters Applications, will deliver:
- Up to 1,356 new homes
- Up to 1,600 sqm of non-residential floorspace, which could include a health centre, offices and shops
With its location at the junction of Southbury Road and the A10, Colosseum Retail Park is uniquely placed to create a new neighbourhood, and to link East and West Enfield. The site represents an exciting opportunity, in line with emerging policy, to take a low density ageing retail park and transform it into a thriving community.
In addition to new homes, of which 35% will be affordable, the development is expected to support over 325 jobs on site once fully operational, together with 155 jobs during construction. A significant amount of new public realm and open space will also be created, including two new parks, equivalent to the size of 65 tennis courts, and amounting to over a third of the site area.
The scheme has been carefully designed to reflect the eclectic mixture of buildings already found across Enfield. The site layout has been carefully thought through to maximise sunlight and daylight to the new homes and green open spaces.
We have actively sought to engage and consult the local community, with hundreds of residents attending public consultation events held between November 2018 and July 2019. The feedback provided by the local community has helped to shape the designs and drive them forward to this proposal.
